Just got a "card memeber benefit change notice" from American Express (they
typically insure you for rental cars as part of being a cardholder). Here
is a little excerpt that I thought may be on interest to the list:
"Vehicles not covered under Car rental loss and damage insurance:
exotic cars regardless of year or value, including but not limited to
Cheverolet Corvette, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Viper and Stealth,
Plymouth Prowler, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Nissan 300ZX, Jaguar XJS, Acura NSX,
Mercedes SL, SLK, S coupe, and convertible, BMW Z3, M3, and 8 Series,
Cadillac Allante (huh?), and ALL Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati,
Aston Martin, Lotus (go Brits!), Bugatti, Vector (wow), Shelby Cobra,
(Learned the lesson with the Hertz Shelby Mustangs?), Bentley, Rolls Royce.
I guess I won't be getting the Hertz Twin Turbo Vector next time I am out
of town.
