To All:
Those of you who missed this weekend's prestigious Huntington Beach (Calif.)
Concours d'Elegance missed one hell of a show. You should plan on being in
town for a visit the first weekend of June next year...and bring your Tiger
or Alpine or any other fine automobile in your inventory to show off. The
judging is fair and thorough, the eats and music (jazz and swing bands this
year), the entries (nearly 200 of them) were spectacular and the crowds very
appreciative.
By the way, Tigers did very well. A gorgeous, recently restored black Mark 1
belonging to Alex Sheveh (sp?) took top honors in its class in the concours
division. My Mark 1A obviously had its points tallied wrong by the judges
and won the "Driver Class" first place award in the division. Darrell
Mountjoy's mouth smacking 289 original Cobra (yep, a real one, rivets and
all) took second and his neato green Mark 1 Tiger took third.
All in all a good day for the marque.
