Bob,

Rather than an acceleration test, have you thought of using a chassis dyno. I
take my car to the Dyno Shop in Santee every 6-8 months and after any
significant engine work. It is very efficient. In 10 minutes you can do 4-5
pulls while changing the timing, for example, and find the optimum setting
for your particular car. They will also recurve the distributor and optimize
power valves and jets. I have a friend that gained 45 hp in his Pantera using
this process. It cost him about $150, very cheap horsepower.
