Hello fellow Beamers. I am home now (in Atlanta) and wanted to update you on
what happened and medical status from our accident July 11 coming home from
SUNI III.

I am doing well. I had no significant injuries. I am still experiencing
dizzness and some mild headaches, but should be back at work by next week.
Ginger however, is still unconscious as I write this (11 days later). She
suffered severe head injuries, both collarbones broken, and collapsed lungs.
She is still unconscious at University Hospital in Columbia Missouri. Your
prayers are appreciated.

The reader's digest version of what happened is that we blew a left rear tire
(stock wheels & tire size) at 70 mph on I-70 in Missouri, went into the
median (ditch), rolled at least twice, crashed into a 1953 Chevy truck that
was being towed in the oncoming traffic (what are the odds of an antique car
hitting an antique truck on an interstate?!).

When I came to, people were gathering around us. We had fortunately landed
right side up. The first people on the scene were a doctor and two nurses
that were just there. Ginger was driving at the time and took the brunt of
the force. We were taken to a hopspital with a trauma center.

The scary part of this is that my front frame ripped apart on both sides
right at the point where the motor mounts are bolted. I am baffled at this
because there isn't any rust on that frame. That piece (cross member, frame,
and wheel wells) went flying away from the car along with all the contents of
my trunk. As for roll bars, I will have them in my next Tiger for sure!
Thanks Chris for the offer! The window frame did a remarkable job, even after
the windshield popped out.

My car is a total disaster. Had it since 1967 as the second owner. I have an
Alpine I'm resporing, but think I want another Tiger.

SUNI was a blast... hate that it had to end this way for us. The only thing
needed right now are prayers for Ginger. I can replace a car, but not a
person. She was a good friend. Thanks.
