Silenance is the only response I got. Such a bold claim needs to be
challenged.
If a converted Alpine did get through, I think everybodu needs to know how and
why. If this is just rumor, again everybody neds to know too.

  Hi everyone
The regional Tiger representative told me a while back(over a year ago) when
I was getting parts at his shop that this ( a converted Alpine passing TAC )
had happened, and he stated so in just such a matter of fact way. He made the
statement "that if you want to spend the money, you could do anything you
wanted, someone will do the work for a price. After all isnt a real "Tiger" a
converted/modified Alpine anyways?"He then told/showed me the keypoints of
Tiger originality. What impressed me ws the lask of finesse in adapting the
trans tunnel for the new V8 unit. Jensen workers just took a torch and hacked
away at the structure of the car so the new pieces would fit, with no
finishing of the rough edges there. I appreciated the roughness even more
when I saw it in my own car when it was on the rotisserie getting the rockers
and X-frame rust fixed.
 Just an observation
