Everyone is right in that the best lubricant for door or other body parts is
Lubriplate. Squirt the stuff on and then blow it into the joints with some
very low pressure compressed air. I have used it for 20 years in all
restorations and it has worked exceedingly well. Just clean the regulator
assembly of all of the old grease with varsol, or thinner, and a brush and
then blow dry. Once dry, blow in the lubriplate and it will last for several
years.
I also did my latches while the doors were apart and was AMAZED how well the
doors close and latch.
