Pads for Sunbeams

Someone commented that there are semi-metallic and other material pads and
shoes for our Sunbeams.  I would point out however that rotors are much
harder to come by than pads.  So, I would not want to be using a pad that
might grip better, and not wear out as fast, but would wear out the rotors
faster.  Don't some of these other pads do exactly that?
