where my mom actually bought an off-the-shelf unit that did just this. It
sat on the transmission tunnel in the front and was designed to look like a
real air conditioner. It plugged into the cigarette lighter and we filled
it with ice.
Hey, come to think of it, it was probably around '65 or '66. This one was
used in our old Ford station wagon - with enough research we may find that
this "aftermarket air conditioner" is actually the missing LAT 32 option.
It didn't work for squat, so that's why they disavow any knowledge....
