Les,

I did answer you once before, but apparently my recommendation was not one of
the ones you have tried.

I will describe it once more.

Go to the front of the car and stick your hand in the grille opening and feel
upwards on both sides.

You will find the hinge arms (one on each side) of the hood.

You will find 4 bolt heads on each one holding the hinge plate to the inner
side of the body where it is under the hood.

Using a 1/4 inch small socket wrench, with appropriate extension and socket,
remove these bolts.

The hood is now completely free on the front end and may be lifted upwards.

Being careful not to scratch your paint, raise the front edge of the hood with
a small lever and padding until you can get your fingers under it. There is no
force involved other than the weight of the hood.

With a friend at the back of the hood, trying to stabilize it from hitting your
body with fingers similarly situated, lift the hood up, then forward. You may
have to reach in, once it is at the appropriate height, and manually release
the hook catch.

Once you have successfully accomplished this task, let me know, and I'll tell
you how to put it back together so you won't ever have another misalignment
problem with the hood and catch that got you in trouble in the first place.

Good luck, it's easy enough.

Steve
