For the stock 2 barrel Tiger with cast iron intake,
the proper way has the PVC hose running to the base
plate of the carb. The vacuum for the brake booster
is another hose running from the intake to the booster.
If you are talking about an aluminum F4B or such,
perhaps:
(1) There is no vacuum fitting on the intake
(2) the PO installed the engine without putting
on the brake vacuum line. The original
adapter is so tall that installing it after the
engine in can be a bitch.
