air vents

Hi all,

I need to replace the air vents under my dash and reconnect the defrost ducts.
I have had the air vents in the trunk since I bought the car, just now getting
to work on it.  Should I remove the dash to do this or can it be done with the
dash in place?  Also what size rivits or screws do I use?
