Reading the recent TEAE test results on cooling, etc. got me to thinking about
the placement of my mechanical fan relative to the
fan shroud. I took a gander this weekend and far from being 1/3 to 1/2 of the
fan blade in the shroud, my fan blades are entirely
in the shroud (and pretty solidly in at that.)
This leads me to ponder 2 things:
- Is this a big problem in terms of air flow?
- How can I move the fan further back? Is the problem:
- fan shrould too deap (it is a repro)
- water pump hub too far forward (it is a replacement,
though supposedly the correct beast installed by a
Tiger specialist.)
- engine to far forward
- possibly all of the above
