Richard, a rotisserie is the best device, and if you expect to do a lot of
work on the car, this is the only way. A very cheap alternative is an old
mattress, and an engine lift. I did this for some temporary work on the
underside, and it is safe, won't hurt the car, and cheap. Go to

Of course, both of these methods have the engine, trans, and diff out of
the car. These parts are heavy and will really flip the car.
