Tigers,

For those of you planning to improve the performance of your stock Ford
distributor, I have the source part number of the spring kit I used to
get the weights all out to maximum advance by 2300 rpm, or whatever
choice you make.

The kit is made by ACCEL (A division of Mr. Gasket) and consists of a
set of small springs of different wire thicknesses, and therefore spring
strength. The lighter spring wires let the weights out faster. The
distributor weights are sometimes combined with un-like springs, causing
the advance to move out at two different rates, depending on rpm. Sort
of a half-advance early, the rest later.

The choice is individual, depends on the application desired, and is
checked with a timing tape, and/or a dial-back ignition strobe.

The Spring Kit part number is #8203 FORD HI RPM KIT with 32 oz. spring.

The Tape is made by Mr. Gasket and is #1594 for Ford Small Block.

These are usually stoked by performance parts houses.
