Actually, not quite identical. In the later models, changes were made.
The Mk IA had holes for the hooks having to do with the soft top boot,
instead of a metal cover, although this does not affect usability in
earlier Tigers, a Mk IA and later would want them, or a modification.
Also, somewhere in the Mk IA or Mk II series, the body rubber rear seal
was significantly changed. Instead of 3 wide rubber seals, and large
corner seals, the bottom seal is one piece (with a small "U" channel at
an angle between the side and rear rubber holding channels) and smaller
interior rubber on the corners.
The fit is MUCH better, the rubber does NOT slide on the paint an ruin
it, but flexes within itself, being much like the door seal spongy rubber.
Sunbeam Specialties has this rubber, the corner pieces of the old design
can be trimmed to clear the new seal. There is a small triangular piece
of metal allowing a screw to go through the corner piece to the top
steel to hold it in place. I do NOT know if this is typical of the
earlier units.
With the addition of a few inches of the "U" channel on each side older
tops can be upgraded, and I strongly recommend it. No paint damage,
better seal.
After a couple of years I added my own design plastic protector, but it
does NOT have adhesive to stick it to the paint, but is held on by
static cling (like a racing "meat ball", and can easily be removed and
stored for the next season. It is an extra thick vinyl static cling
material identical to the "Meat Ball" stuff, but clear.
