This is the best advice I've seen in a while. CO is deadly and gives little 
warning. The standard headache and dizziness observation may come to late as 
the CO may have already displaced all the O2. Hemoglobin is strange, it has a 
greater affinity for CO than for oxygen. By the time your lips turn red and 
you get a headache the CO may have already killed you or done permanent 
neurological damage. 

You can buy CO detectors from the marine sector. Remember that CO is odorless.
