I agree with Jim.  The wiper motor is another example
of 'great' British wiring concepts. Make sure that you have 
wired everything according to the book. The way the wiper is
wired, you must be careful to allow the blades to park
before turning the car off.  If you turn the car off with
the blades up, the motor is still getting juice even with
the key out.  There is a park switch within the motor
that actually turns the current off.  Perhaps this switch
is not adjusted right or is bad.  I remember reading a
tech tip about this. 

Try this simple test.  With the key out, undo the positive 
cable to the battery and connect a simple test light 
between the positive cable and the battery post.  If the light 
comes on then it means you have a current draw.  Since
your wiper motor is getting hot, I would start there.  You 
should disconnect your radio or any other device while
doing this test.  This test will detect the current draw
of the clock within a radio. 

But check the wiring first.
