The Lucas (Girling) replacement parts have been "homogulated" to allow
their use on many cars. The master cylinder sold for use on the Tiger
has some problems.

1) He is correct, that first outer rubber boot (inside the passenger
compartment) will not fit and must be removed, but it isn't a seal, anyway.

2) Another large problem is the actuator rod and clevis. At it's
shortest position it will be too long to fit the pedal properly. The
original was one piece, with clevis, rod, and disk as a single assembly.
The old one must replace the loose clevis and the attached rod with
threads. You will need to remove the rubber you don't need anyway, and
the slip-on boot you will need. It will slide off the threaded end of
the shaft. A circlip must be carfully removed with the proper tool to
remove the rod and disc.

3) The old clevis-rod-disc one piece assembly must be shoved through the
hole in the rubber boot. A little hydraulic fluid will ease this job,
and the rubber will stretch over the disc with little effort. the disc
is inserted into the master cylinder, and the circlip replaced. The boot
re-attached, and there might be a need for a thin nylon zip grip tie
wrap to hold it in place.

4) The clevis will now fit the pedal hole(s), as always.

I am not aware of any casting ridge that prevents the assembly of the MC
I used.
