David,
Unless I missed something (I did check back through the last few days
mail) all you asked to do was "see" this article. I am utterly confused. For
you to be concern about safety not only for yourself, but for others on the
road you ask to "see" an article and get flack for that???
I'm sorry, but all it seemed to me you were doing is looking for a
source of what to many would likely be considered an obscure article. Your
question had no pretense as to imply you were trying to rip someone off.
Your interest was in safety. I have to ask would someone get riled if I sent
you a copy of a "copyrighted" membership form from a club news letter so you
could join?
I have been to the CAT, STOA, etc. sites and I never recall any offering
of the opportunity to aquire back issues. How could you have known that this
info was copyrighted and supposedly available at a price. I doubt that if
someone replied that for a few dollars it was available you would have said
"no way, forget it." It seems though that rather than politely directing you
to a source of purchase (from the emails I have seen) you have received
flack for posing the question.
David if I knew the date of the article you want and I had an original I
would pay to send the original to you and I would pay for the return postage
for you to return it back to me. Thus "copy" would be construed as the
original. If that bothers some that at no cost to you get to "see" this
article that could potentially save lives then this "Hobby Community" really
has a problem. Those with a photographic memory "beware," using your mind
might be a copyright infringement!
