I am currently working on a Mk-2 Tiger with the car-version of the
overdrive transmission in it. The ratios are completely wrong for a
sportscar...first gear is over 9:1 in spite of the original 2.88 axle gears:
first and second gear are both lower ratio than a "normal" toploader equipped
car, there is nothing between the lower than normal second gear and direct
drive: your ultimate ratio in overdrive is about 2.3:1. Even if you are
using a mild RV cam grind, you will never get your engine "up on the cam".
