Let's give old Tom a little credit.
His Tiger, however wonderful it might be, is just a 35 year old unibody car
with some improvements.
It is not a tube framed purpose built racer (last I heard)
If you look at qualifying times you will notice a very small percentage
difference between the pole sitter and the rest. If you qualify 1% or 2%
off the pace you can be rows back.
None of the other cars are running restrictor plates or big lead weights,
either. and what about the aerodynamics? How fast can a Tiger be with most
of the rubber sticking out in the wind?
