Bill
It sounds like you either have some dirt in that caliper or the
caliper pistons are gummed up, rusted or pitted causing it to hang. The
last time this happened on my Tiger it was dirt in the caliper and I was
able to flush it out. Any obstruction in the line is only going to that
caliper from the 4- way connection. The master cylinder is OK since you
indicate the rest of the system is working correctly.
Are you using rubber hoses to the calipers or Stainless Steel
braided lines? There is a possibility that the rubber hose has split
internally and is restricting fluid return. This has happened to me on
other cars.
First bleed the caliper again and look for any type of dirt in the
fluid. Road test to check brake function if you found dirt.
Second remove the caliper and pop the pistons out to check for
gumming, rust, or pits on the piston and in the caliper bores. Check the
rubber parts for any defects. Replace parts as required. Clean all parts,
re-assemble the caliper, bleed the caliper. Road test again.

It appears my 65 Tiger passenger side brake caliper is not releasing.J
Currently the disc is locked to the pads and is extremely hot.
A little history.J The set up is a stock master cylinder without booster,
stock calipers, pads, rotors.J Same thing happened previously and I thought
the bearing had seized. I replaced all front bearings repacked and adjusted
per spec.J Same failure occured.J Caliper released disc after a few hours of
rest.
Re-bled system before today's test drive and everything was fine through 3
miles of stop and go city traffic when there was a progessive pull to the
right andJ then a squealing sound.J Wheel felt hot to the touch.J Smoke.J
Only the front passenger wheel is affected.
Would anyone have an idea of a course of further action.J I am assuming the
caliper is not returning to it's normal posiiton because the piston (s) are
damaged/obstructed or perhaps the master cylinder or connecting lines are
suspect.J Any thoughts on troubleshooting this one before I start digging in
and ordering parts?
