Rooters or Listers- I think I might have given
everyone something to contribute concerning EFI. As
mention earlier I have had a(thing you pay for to
receive a magazine- sounds like s--cript--n)for
several years. I even ask them to start putting more
ford powered cars in the mag(they ask for readers
reccomendations)and specifacly Sunbeam Tigers. I have
no idea if I should get credit for the Tigers that
have been shown but would love to think my
reccomendation helped the editors to decide to run a
couple of Tigers and always another nonmustang ford
powered car, in each months publication.
In reading the articles each month, Ive discovered
it isnt that big of a deal to use the computer and EFI

to power a 60s model Tang. There are companies that
reprogram your computer to match the engine/tranny you
are running. In doing so, you do have to have the mass
air sensor and a couple other have to have parts(OK,
Im old, I did inhale years ago and my memory was never
very good to start with)BUT when reprogramming the
computer they program it to see some parts that dont
exist. Now I know Im going to have to go back thru old
mags and like Tiger Tales and the TE/AE newsletters, I
have very large stacks of them located in every room
of my barely able to walk thru home. Ok, I admitt, I
usually stay at my girlfriends house and sometimes Im
forced to change girlfriends, which may or maynot be
my idea, none the less, my house is really a storage
bin for Tiger parts and I must admitt, I own two
shovel head harleys and there are some HD parts mixed
in BUT since I love to drive a Tiger and I get closer
to God while Im riding(slap the next person you hear
say they drive their motorcycle)either of my older
scoots. I remember to always Thank the Good Man
upstairs for providing both the beautiful day( even if
it is cold; do you guys in Ca. really have an idea
what cold is?)
and me both life and the ability to feel and hear the
sound of the V twin as I twist the throttle and look
at the world as I dodge deer running from one side of
the road to the other. Seriously, I do always give
THANKS when I get on the bike, its much like driving a
Tiger, just not as warm in the colder months and there
isnt a top to put up when the weatherman lies about
the dry day we where suppose to have. Ok back to EFI.
Mustang Mag publishes at least 3 mags, the one I
take, for older Tangs, another for later models and I
think a third and Im not sure what it entails. BUT,
they do write articles that make installing EFI a
pretty simple task. There are wiring harneses
available for, as an example a 65 fastback, which has
only the necessry connectors for the sensors that are
required, the people that reprogram your computer and
of course they have adds from suppliers, to make the
computer only see the necessary readings, its my
understanding they reprogram it to "make believe"
other unnecessary parts are there and working as they
should. The articles Ive read(memory again)take you
from the junk yard thru complete installation. Of
course they have any necessary parts on hand as they
write about each step in converting to an EFI engine
( does everyone know that a motor is something that
runs on electricity?)
