Oh, I should add the test drive for this fix was at night.  Another first.
The lights worked fine and nothing caught fire.



I cured my shifter woes.  I found that using the pin hole alignment
technique I could have the transmission in neutral but not really in
neutral, kind of sort of.  Adjusting in kinda neutral doesn't work.  The 1-2
rod needed to be "shortened" 1/4" or so and now it's fine.
