10 psi? Let's see... The tanks are about 15" x 12", so the sides alone have
a surface area of 180 square inches each... That would amount to over 3000
pounds of force trying to split the seams of the tanks. I don't think that
more than 2 PSI is prudent. You should still be able to hear or otherwise
(soap solution?) detect any leak.

If you pressurize your tank above say 10 psi for too long a time, you may
force gasoline through the float bowel valve and fill the engine with
gasoline.
