Why use a spring compressor?

I wrote a tech tip on removing the lower A-rm that includes removing the
spring. its on TigersUnited.com.

In Short:
(1) Jack car up and place a jack stand under the frame by the door hinge.
(2) Remove the sway bar
(3) Remove the shock
(4) Raise the A-arm about 4 inches using the jack
(5) Remove the lower ball joint bolt
(6) Carefully lower the jack. The spring shouild snag on one of the
shock nuts. The spring will push the A-arm free of the ball joint.
(7). Remove the jack and rotate the A-rm down.
(8) Reach up and pull the sprint out.

Be careful and watch out for your fingers.
