I bought a pulley puller for the power steering pumps on other cars. I haven't
looked at a generator in a long time, but I would guess it would work for a
generator as well.

I'm trying to disassemble the generator (yes, I still use the original) to
paint the shell, but I can't get the pulley off without using what I
consider
excessive force. Any suggestions? A gear puller didn't do the trick.
  Thanks.
