While on the discussion of the MKII on EBay it brings to mind a question.
A while back in the discussion of Tiger prices some thought that for a car
brand/model to really bring the big bucks that it would have to have some
kind of racing history.

Suppose that Shelby had done the following:

He took 100 Tigers of each of the models....MKI, MKIA and MKII.

To each of the 100 at his factory he put in a HiPo 300 HP small block.

He upgraded the suspension with different springs, shocks, tires and
wheels.

To make it appear sleeker he left off the bumperettes, changed the grill,
maybe put some small driving lights in the grill like the Shelby Mustang,
put on good looking wheels, put on the Cobra rings to replace the Tiger
eyebrows, added logos on the front sides and rear that stated "Shelby Tiger".
Added the Shelby plate under the hood. And added a few other small touches
like racing style steering wheel, different seats, etc.

He topped the package off with mufflers that were a little throatier than
stock.

He sold the package through Ford dealers at a $1,200 premium or about
$4,500.

Now we know a bunch of these would have gotten raced, but Shelby or Ford
never raced them. And he might have had a hard time selling them at that
price. With all the thrashing over the years there would probably remain
about 150 units today. So, the question is...What would a good original
with about 50,000 miles sell for today?
