My Tiger's engine runs hot a low speeds and I want to increase the airflow.=
? I'd like to know if anyone has successfully addressed this issue with a D=
erale fan, or another type of fan, or an electric fan.
I'm in the process of installing a Derale 17015 fan, but I have had to depi=
tch the blades to clear the upper rad hose, which reduces the airflow.? In =
addition, I will have to create a custom spacer, so it is getting to the po=
int where I am not sure it is worth the bother.
I am now leaning towards using the original fan and an electric fan, but wa=
nt to survey the group first.
Thanks for your response.

The great gasket question...

If making your own gaskets lots of people ( including our suplliers) remake
what were paper gaskets in rubber.

A good example are the trunk (boot) hinge gaskets and the door handle
gaskets. These are originally a paper type gasket material.

The modern repros are a molded rubber with a edge hob/ridge to locate the
part. The better quality rubbers will have a cross hatch on the back of the
rubber gasket to provide grip.. But you will note that with the moderm
rubbers the gaskets often form a fat black like around the handles and
hinges.. They also often move and you see them skewed under the part.

The original gaskets located much better and were not visible and less
likely to move.

So if making gaskets dont always assume a rubber gasket is a better option.

Just my .02

I installed the same fan on my Tiger,=C2=A0 I had to trim a little corner o=
ff the leading edge to clear the radiator. Don't remember any issues with t=
he hose.

The air flow on that thing is insane.=C2=A0 I have a LAT fiberglass hood.=
=C2=A0 Reving the engine will cause the corners of the hood to flex up from=
 the air pressure.

The sound is just like a Cessna on full power take off roll.

Cooling problems under control.=C2=A0 After a while I found the Ford Maveri=
ck fan and installed that.=C2=A0 The Derale was too noisy compared to the M=
averick. Cooling still under control.
