You asked about the term "slammed"...
Ok, I tried to use "nouveau speek", jus tryin to be hip, no I mean fresh. Oh
heck, no use, I'm past my peak with "peachy keen"
You and I would be used to a lowered car, but a "slammed" car is REALLY low.
Usually so low that you cannot drive it (sorta like a Citroen when the
suspension settles down). Most of the hotrods that are slammed around here,
use hydraulics in the suspension to get them up high enough to be driven and
legal. Some owners go to the extreme of mounting magnesium strips to the
chassis so that when they drop them down, the strip drags on the ground,
leaving a trail of sparks. Quite the deal in certain circles !
So to get back to the comment about "slammed '60 Caddies". Imagine about 30
feet of chop top Caddy sittin so low the toe of your Penny Loafer won't fit
underneath it, and you've got the idea.
No slammed cars in MY stable...
