Rod,
On TR250's and TR6's, the rocker panels were painted body color, THEN
painted over the body paint with a heavy undercoating material from the
middle of the (rocker trim) rivit holes down to the flange at the bottom.
The semi-gloss or "flat" on the rear valence is paint, and most likely
(like the area behind the grille on my TR 250) painted over the body col
-or.
Also, on '70-'76 TR6's the windshield frame is also black.
