There is a 4 valve per cylinder head that will fit yor TR7 and guess what it's
not a Saab head but a Triumph one. The Triumph Dolomite Sprint used the same
basic engine as the TR7 with both of these units being an uprated version of the
original 18/50 Dolomite engine, The TR7 continued with 2 valves per cyl.while
the Sprint engine got 4. The conversion is possible, usually taking the whole
power plant from the Sprint and plopping it into the TR. The thing is on this
side of the pond the Sprint is the vavoured beast and sometimes a sad TR7 will
find it's self donating it's heart for a broken down Sprint all be it a slower
engine. I don't know if they sold the Sprint States side, but it is a fine car
if not a little fussy.
