my leisure over the winter. Put šem out on the workbench, turn on the
bright lights, lay out the gaskets and drink many beers. What effect
would there be, i.e., how would the engine then behave? Išm a little hazy
on what would be the usual impact of a dual-carb setup, (SUšs, for example)
over a single Strom. Better acceleration out of the box? Higher top end?
The airspeed of a European swallow?

Well you'll end up with a better breathing, higher top end similar to the
european spec 1500. The single Stromberg tends to strangle the engine
around 4000 RPM. Done properly you WILL notice the difference - but getting
it smogged may be another story! You may even be able to catch up to a
European swallow - but I'll leave that determination up to the rest of the
list :-)
