TR6 Dash Restoration

This spring, I'm thinking about replacing the entire dash board area of my
73 TR6. This means the "crash pads" as well as the wooden fascia. Does
anyone on the list have experience with this? What's the deal about pulling
the windshield frame off? It looks like this has to be done to get at the
dash top crash pad. What parts should I order (or should I say put on
backorder?) to do the job properly? Is there a good (read easy) way to get
the demister ducts out? Any tips would be appreciated.

Also, could anybody advise me about the difference between the Panasport
wheels offered by TRF and the Minilite look-a-likes from Moss (other than
$50)? I don't race my TR, so my use is confined to "good weather" touring,
a few rallies, etc.

Finally, can anyone tell me where to get rally stuff these days? Stuff like
the Stevens calculator, a good clock, Halda or more evolved equipment, and
especially some good books about competing in the USA rally scene?
