Clutch Problems

I have been experiencing problems with my TR6 clutch for quite a while
now. The symptoms are that the clutch does not release smoothly - 
mainly when the car is warm. It becomes increasingly difficult to 
control and I look like a fool quite a lot of the time when the 
car leaps into action. I have tried to remedy this before by
replacing the thrust bearing carrier (and thrust bearing) and puting
a little graphite grease on the shaft. Also the clutch fork is
completely new and I don't think the clutch fork shaft bearings
are considerably worn. 

The clutch pedal does have slack at the beginning of travel, but
I know that much of this is due to wear in the pedal linkages.
Since the problem only starts to occur after driving for 10-15 
minutes, I am suspicious that the thrust bearing is not releasing
correctly and is related to the thrust bearing getting a little
warm. This also ties up with thrust bearing problems that I've 
had in the recent past - one considerably worn and one completely
cracked (in the space of just over a year).

Therefore my latest theory is that the release bearing is not
releasing - possibly due to the pedal linkages being too warm.
I'm not completely sure how the self-adjustment works on the unit -
does it adjust to the end of travel or does it adjust to 
the beginning? Has anybody else had problems with the clutch
release bearing not releasing and have any remedies? I'm particularly
interested in tests that don't require taking the gearbox out
again (not very realistic am I!)
