"TR6 owners
Looking at the owners manual for my '71, it says:
Reverse .. Move the lever sharply to the extreme
right and reward. Engage only when
                      the vehicle is stationary.
Choke control - Long set of instructions, no mention of twisting to hold in
 the open position."

Which prompted Fred:
"Dan, I understand what your manual says, BUT, if you do not lift-up no
reverse, manual or not that's the way it is."

My turn:
I tried the reverse thing and found there is no way to pull the lever up on
my gearbox. There is a detent that must be overcome. I also tried the
choke-twist; sorry, not on my car either. Just another example of why these
cars are so much fun.

"Please disregard the following instructions:"
