I healize that hood squeaks and sympathetic vibrations go hand
in hand with
being a TR-3 owner, but my situation is ridiculous. The Dzus
fasteners and
spring on my hood sound like a symphony of alley cats. The
problem has
        gotten worse since:

        1. Readjusting the rubber stops so the hood line matched the
front clip
        better.
        2. Replacing the motor mounts.

Can anyone report some successful tactics for minimizing the
vibrational
noise. For example, might changing the rubber stops help?

        Thanks.

John,
I own a '59 TR3A. It also had vibration rattles from the front hood.
(USA speak) The sounds were caused by the hood prop stick. Since I did
not have a new rubber clamp for the end, I cut a small hole in a tennis
ball and slid it onto the prop stick. When the prop stick is stowed into
the rubber clamp, the tennis ball is wedged between the stick and the
hood. The vibration rattle has been eliminated. Hoaky but it works.
Some day I'll get around to replacing the rubber clamp fixture. I can
just see those concours folks out on the list rolling their eyes!
