If your bushings were like mine, they are made of nylon, which melts at
400+degrees. When you boil them they will soften due to water absorption
which takes time. On the downside, the moisture pickup will make them swell
a bit.

Not a rolling boil, just a simmer.  Small bubbles slowly coming to top of
pan.  No analytical evidence for this, but my feeling with all rubber stuff
is it is better to heat it slowly for a long time than to heat it fast and
quick.

Our TR6 had none either, you'll be pleased with the effect after they are in
