I have some old Pioneer self contained speakers in my '73 TR-6. Two are
stuffed under the dash and two more sit on the carpeted shelf behind the
seats. I glued velcro to the speakers and the carpet to keep them in
place. Then I added plugs in the wires to each speaker so that I could
remove the speakers and put them in the trunk for security when needed. I
imagine someone still makes self contained spakers. As for the antenna,
iI mounted a fully retractable manual one on the front right fender,
droping into the area near the passenger footwell but behind the carpeted
wall. I had to angle it just slightly but it works OK.

Radio Shack has a metal enclosed bookshelf speaker called the
Minimus 7 (I think) that sounds great. I have a pair in the
foot wells and I am quite happy with the sound. Can't hear
them over 50 MPH though.
