on shiny trains leaving the open road to enthusiasts. People still ride and
race horses and it is indeed "big business". I remember the doom and gloom
writings of the 70's predicting the end of high performance autos brought on
by the pressure from insurance companies, the Ralph Nader lobby and law
makers. Who could have envisioned the resurgence of high performance
technology brought on by market demand and competition. Just look in any auto
enthusiast publication and you will find ad's for all manner of exotic
performance parts from Neons to Porsches. I don't think these suppliers are
going to fade like the buggy whip manufacturers of the 1800's. Heck, there
are still buggy whip guys around for those horse enthusiasts that aren't
smart enough to realize that they are obsolete and extinct!
