Yes, I have made my own harness. Yes, it is very difficult to do, much harder
than using a ready-made. It is cheaper to buy one than it is to make your
own. Unless you are quite versed in the art of automotive electricals, I
recommend using a ready made harness. If you should decide to do your own
(more power to you!), I strongly suggest you get a copy of "Automotive
Electrical Handbook" by Jim Horner, published by HP Books, ISBN
0-89586-238-7, approximately $18. It is by far the best book on the market on
this subject. If I can help you, please feel free to call on me.
There were two reasons why I made my own:
1) I wanted to (I'm an Electrical Engineer),
2) I modified my car so much that a ready made harness wouldn't work (see web
