I've got a Smiths tachometer, it looks to be the kind from an MGB. I
suppose I'd be better off posting this to the MG list, but I'm too lazy.
I will if I get no response...

I'd like to stick the tach into my Chevette. There is a tacho signal in
the diagnostic pack that I can patch into.

I need to know the pinouts for the tach. From what I can see there are 4
connections (not including light bulb, of course)- one is obviously case
earth, but there's a spade lug and 2 banana plugs (female & male)- I
don't want to fry anything by hooking it up backwards. Can anyone help me?

I also have a mysterious looking Smiths sensor. I think it's a relic
from the Alpine. The only ID on it are "2_6" on one side and "TT
3800/00" (two lines) on the other side. It also says "Smiths Motor
Accessories Limited England" on the sensor end. It appears to be made
mostly of brass or bronze.

Any help is appreciated...

Too many rocks and not enough sand.
