Ok it seems the consensus is that TRF & Moss both supply the plinth
without the bracket (which Dave Terrick pointed out could be very useful
as a reinforcement of the choke control). I got mine from BPNW and it is
the same as the big 2 (of 3, don't know about VB but suspect the same
story).

So I can live with that. If they are made by the same supplier fine.
Perhaps the british sources can get one with the bracket. I'd be
interested in anyone from across the ocean about this.

As for price, this is interesting in itself (given that all three
vendors mentioned above seem to provide the exact same item). I paid $31
at BPNW. I believe TRF and Moss are more like $45. That's almost 50%
higher! To me this is significant and I am glad I bought this particualr
item from BPNW instead of TRF or Moss. Granted they don't have a fancy
catalog and no web page, but you can't beat their prices on certain
items. And they too are good people to deal with (so far...). Just my
opinion.
