If there's a used tool store, or a general trading post, or a "full time
garage sale" (that's what we've got), check them out for strange tools.
They usually buy boxes full of tools and then 'sort' them into bins.
Sometimes you get lucky and can find something.

I get my wood chisels, hand planes, and ass't screwdrivers from this sort
of place.  Cheaper than buying them new, and you can often find good
brand name (or antique, in my case) !  

I will be perusing the store next week for some Whitworth wrenches and
some 8-point (or 4-point, drool) sockets.
