 Yes, it is painted white.

  This must be the case here, but boy, with an April '62 press date, and
the couple of months lead time for the magazine editing/production, this
car must have had a very low comission number...

  Not knowing TR 4's well enough to compare, I'm "guessing" it must be
the normal, rectangular style, for it definitely has 90 degree corners.
There is no mention of the test car's VIN any where in the article.  
 Still, for $2,849, it seems like a good car.  I wood like a new rear
suspension though, and a bigger engine, yeah- a six cylinder seems about
right,
and maybe replace that white dash with a slab of walnut....yeah, that's
the ticket...I'll take one of those. Oh yeah, put a racing stripe across
the hood too...
