Hi List

I guess you can tell that I have been working very hard on my 1957 TR3. Last
week I put in a new carpet set. It was a wool set from TRF and I was
pleasantly surprised by the quality, fit, and appearance. What a difference a
new carpet set makes!

My next project is to install new seat covers. My question is: can an
enthusiast with moderate skills put on seat covers and get a good result? Are
there any printed step by step instructions? I have new vinyl seat covers
from TRF and have ordered an installation kit. I have talked to a local auto
upholstery shop and they can put on the covers and his guesstimate is that
they will take 4 hours each at $45 per hour. That comes to $360. Is that
anything I should consider?

Also the covering of the dash insert on my car (it is a smallmouth so I
believe it should be covered in vinyl) needs replacing. Can I do this
without taking the whole thing apart? Removing all of the gauges looks like
a big job. Any shortcuts would be appreciated.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving
