I have just finished reupholstering the seats of my '57 TR3. On outward
appearances, the seats are very different from the TR3A seats. There is only
one line of piping along the top of the seat on the TR3 as opposed to two with
the TR3A. The direction of the upholstery is different too. However from what
I learned on the TRA video, the seat frames are the same. I used the Moss
Motors "official" TR3 horsehair and canvas rebuild kit with good results. I
also tightened the seat springs with hog rings. The TRA club (if you need a
contact I have a name for you) has a series of videos on sidecurtain cars.
They are GREAT! Don't attempt to rebuild your seats without watching their
seat/interior video.
