Duff Diff?

Just a little question.....

When I stripped the spares 2.5S this weekend, I noticed the diff flange has
about 1/8 inch. free movement, fore and aft. There are no leaks, the diff
turns sweetly without excessive slop and there is no sideplay.

So, do the quill shafts do this?
