I have mine sitting here right next to me. First, let
me say that this absolutely works. I tried a number
of set ups which all failed because I couldn't achieve
enough preasure. This not only forced the oil into the
trunnions, it had enough presure to force all remaining
grease out!
The oil I have is OMC Ultra-HPF Gearcase Lube P/N 500711
The gun has no part number but when I bought it (at a local
boat/marine shop) the guy said they come with the purchase of
an outboard motor and is used to oil the gearcase. There are
two types: one looks more like a gun with a trigger and the
other, which I got is what the shop said is standard. All it
is is a die cast metal tube that has a plastic nozel at one end
(which is threaded), a pump which you manually push in at the
other end and in the middle is the female connector that the oil
tube screws into. Obviously the plastic nozzel won't do so I
went to the local hardware store and picked up a double threaded
piece of metal tubing (threaded at both ends, about 4") and a
grease gun nipple. They all screwed toghether perfectly.
