TR OD non-switch

on my '64 TR4 there is a blank escutcheon (just like the turn signal one but
without the oval hole in it)
ps; I drilled a round hole and put my radio converter switch there (changes
positive ground to negative for the radio only)
But now after 24 years I am seriously considering putting in a Overdrive type
A in soon...any thoughts on this big move? I want to take long highway drives
to get to the mountains but high-revving the engine for long periods gets
stressful.
